Word of the Week- PDP

Definition: Personal development planning is the process of creating an action plan based on awareness, values, reflection, goal-setting and planning for personal development within the context of a career, education, relationship or for self-improvement.

What is PDP?

“Without leaps of imagination or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all is a form of planning.” - Gloria Steinum

PDP supports the idea that learning is a lifelong and life-wide activity. The process of PDP can strengthen the capacity to reflect upon learning and achieving to plan personal, educational and career development. This is a core process, required throughout the education and in many employment and continuing professional industries. The use of personal planning didn't have one effect on me before the task to use PDPs' to enhance my learning and to sharpen skills.

However since I started to write this blog I found that it does help relieve some tension in the mind and allows me to think about the other things in life, However there is a downside to it as well. My life isn't anything special, and so therefore I have no interesting things to say or talk about. The interesting things that go on tend to be random facts and thoughts that appear in my head and seemingly create ideas, stories and deep thoughts that make my head spin.

The use of PDPs help you plan ahead and think about the past at the same time without you having to worry about it because you already have. this just allows you to relax and think about the plan you already have with about a million other back up plans if something goes wrong, even when it comes to a train-wrecking halt you can analyse it again and start again.
