Word of the Week- Deadline

Definition: noun. the latest time or date by which something should be completed. or a line drawn around a prison beyond which prisoners were liable to be shot.

Deadlines are important but I wish they were like the alarm clock snooze button.

"I love deadlines. I love the whooshing sound they make as they fly by." - Douglas Adams

When this word was brought up the first thought that came to my head was not a kind one, so I wont repeat it. The reason for this would be because when it is mentioned, it tends to mean that it is close and the first thought that runs through my head is... "have I done it?".

Whether I have or haven't done it is not the real matter, the real matter is have I got it ready? and what about the extra parts that need to be with it. I have always preferred the word due date as it doesn't sound as threatening..."The due date is coming is soon" compared to, "The deadline is coming up".
